Our history in East Kilbride

Hunter Street Dental is located on Hunter Street in the Village, the oldest part of East Kilbride. The Village is home to some of the town’s most distinctive landmarks, such as the Old Parish Church clock tower and the Loupin’ Stane. The area is now a busy, vibrant street full of independent shops, cafes and restaurants.

Serving the community for over 30 years

Hunter Street Dental was originally opened in 1988 and was taken over by Frank Rafters in 1990. Then known as ‘Frank Rafters Dental Surgery’, the practice grew to become one of East Kilbride’s longest and best established dental practices. When Frank retired in November 2019, the practice was taken over by dentists Alastair Fraser and Michael Dhesi, who also own and operate our neighbouring sister practice, Greygables Dental.

Paul Fernie joined Hunter Street Dental to replace Frank Rafters as principal dentist in December 2019. Since then, we have embarked on an extensive program of modernising and upgrading our small but lovely practice. We are passionate about new technology and providing patients with the best dental treatments available in a relaxed, modern environment. We look forward to being part of the East Kilbride community for many years to come and continuing to provide the excellent care for which we have become renowned.
